Beauty and the Beast - Tale as old as time.

Someone once told me “All Disney songs make a lot of sense, they are timeless”.

It made me ponder on all the times I have sat down in a daze and dreamt big dreams. Big, happy, colourful dreams.
I’ve dreamt of things that most people would consider, ‘childish’.
I don’t blame them, for fairies and elves for instance were stories created by parents to keep their little ones entertained. But the fact remains that children were entertained. No. They were more than merely entertained they were enraptured by these tales. I am envious of children who spend each moment awed by iconic characters like Mickey Mouse, letting their minds wander into far off places only known to them. No-one tampers with their imagination.

I’ve realised that as we grow older we all spend our lives trying to accomplish goals and grab at numerous opportunities. We are all running a dangerously competitive race willingly or unwillingly. Most of us are so wrapped up in our daily routines that we forget to notice, let alone appreciate the bigger picture, the wonders of this life.

Disney helps us recall the magic we dusted off somewhere along the way. Those who think it childish to dream, and to be immersed in the rainbow of colour of epic Disney movies; they are missing out on too much. They’ve grown up and tucked away the glitter and glam of their imagination.
So, dream as if you’ll live forever and live as if you’ll die today.

I post this song, telling you what someone once told me. “All Disney songs make a lot of sense, they are indeed timeless.”
